Forget Me Not Advocacy Group, Inc. (“FMN”) is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. FMN was formed when I saw a need I wished to fill. As I wrote, and made more connections, people started sharing their stories with me and asking me to speak publically. Based on numerous conversations, and tons of research, here are a few of the things I learned.

  • Domestic Violence Awareness is low – Many people want to understand it, but do not.
  • Domestic Violence affects 1 in 3 women (situations that are reported). This does not include the thousands of cases that go unreported each year.  To help put this in perspective, Breast Cancer affects 1 in 8 women and Heart Disease kills 1 in 4 women.
  • Our young people are suffering too – 1 in 15 children will witness or experience domestic violence in their home and 1 in 3 adolescents are physically, emotionally, sexually, or verbally abused by their dating partner.
  • The long term effects of domestic abuse are mindblowing – from psychological to physical problems, victims of domestic abuse suffer the effects of abuse long after they leave.

As a survivor myself, I set out to share my story in order to help those healing from domestic violence.  It has since grown into a mission to educate our young people, so that they can avoid a DV relationship before it starts, and to provide emotional support to those healing.

As a new organization, we are actively seeking partnerships, sponsors, and donors.  Any help you can provide, to help us in our mission to end the silence on domestic violence, is greatly appreciated.  Please feel free to contact me directly, or contribute financially through PayPal.

Thank you for all that you do. Without your support, this dream would have never become a reality!
